Camp Information

Midsummer Madness 08 is a weekend gathering of all members across the Inverness District Scout Council. Along similar lines to the 2007 Centenary Camp, MM08 will feature a weekend of fun activities for all ages!

What's Going On?

On Friday evening, get your campsite setup quick smart. Impress your leaders and get the "VIP Access All Areas" wristband. Then you can enjoy the luxuries of the VIP Zone! You'll not get in without a wristband, so make sure your campsite is set up properly!

Following Saturday's flag break and Opening Ceremony, the morning will feature the Monster Challenge inter sub-camp event. After lunch there will be a multi-activity Monster Madness Fair. The evening will include a Campfire at the outdoor ROK Stage followed by a choice of the Casino in the marquee or the Monster Mash Disco at the ROK Stage!

Sunday morning's events begin with flag break and Scouts' Own followed by Sunday Madness, a range of really silly games in small teams! Then it's the Closing Ceremony, lunch then clearing the site before home time!

Check the Outline Programme page for more programme information.

Joining Instructions

Joining MM08 is really easy! Simply follow the steps below:

1. Go to the MM08 Downloads page and get the MM08 Handbook. This includes the parent's permission-to-camp (PPTC) form that must be filled in by all members aged 6-17. The PPTC form is also available to download separately if required.

2. Ask your parent or carer to fully complete the PPTC form and return it, together with your camp fee, to your own section leader.

3. If you want to really get into the MM08 mood, you can download an order form for your official MM08 camp T-shirt! The form is part of the MM08 Handbook and is available separately too.

4. That's it! Your section's arrangements for attending MM08 will be issued to you by your own section leader.

The following steps are not applicable for youth members or their parents or carers.

4. Groups and units need to return their Group Registration Forms and fees to Brian Lamond no later than Friday 30 May in order that the sub-camps can be allocated. Group/unit leaders should go to the MM08 Downloads page to get a Group Registration Form.

The fees that need to be returned to Brian are £7.50 for Beavers and £20.00 for Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts. Groups/units may need to charge their members an additional fee to cover food and transport as appropriate.

5. Adults who are not associated with a Scout group/unit are required to return a registration form too. Go to the MM08 Downloads page to get a Non-Group Attendee form. They need to be returned to Brian Lamond no later than Monday 26 May. This includes members of the Scout Network and the Scout Fellowship.

6. All adults (aged 18+) require a Disclosure Scotland form to be processed prior to attending MM08. Those who haven't yet done so can get a form from Brian Lamond. Please contact Brian for more information about Disclosure Scotland forms.
